We are working with The Department of Communication, Media & Sport to roll out FULL FIBRE OPTIC Broadband, as a part of their RURAL GIGABIT VOUCHER SCHEME. There are many benefits to having a full fibre connection service for residents, business owners, local communities and the UK’s economy, which is why the Government has pledged a £5bn investment to support the roll out and in order to meet their target for ‘copper switch off’ by 2030.
The Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme has the strategic objective of increasing gigabit-capable coverage across the UK. Starting in March 2018, the programme launched the first wave of its programme, designed to encourage broadband service providers to build full-fibre networks in the UK for small to medium-sized businesses and nearby residents when part of a group scheme. The £67m fund was successfully used over two years and has now closed for new applications.
In May 2019, the programme launched its second wave of funding to support the cost of installing gigabit-capable broadband to homes and businesses in rural areas of the UK when part of a group scheme.
The purpose of the scheme is to speed up the deployment of full fibre in rural areas of the UK and to encourage suppliers to invest in gigabit capable services. The scheme provides micro-grants in the form of vouchers to support the cost of new connectivity. The voucher is a benefit to eligible homes and small to medium-sized businesses in group schemes, where a group is two premises or more. As the scheme is supplier-led, suppliers have a central role in aggregating demand for the scheme amongst their customers. Registered suppliers for the scheme will receive online access to voucher applications, guidance documents, marketing materials and the opportunity to manage their own profile on the scheme website. We have taken care of step number 1 for you. Once we have enough people from your community on board we will take care of the rest.
Working we will use existing infrastructure through the physical infrastructure access program, to install a GPON full fibre network. This means we can use telecoms and power poles along with underground infrastructure that have already been installed, removing the need for any roadworks, resulting in very little disruption to your village. Our engineers will RUN brand new fibre cables along the poles or underground ducts and install distribution points in each street. If and when a property takes up our service, we shall arrange an appointment to visit your property and install a brand new fibre cable along with smart wifi routers. This cable will then connect to the distribution point in your street. This whole process takes us weeks not years.
We treat every home like our own, and our engineers are trained in customer service. We advise and agree the best installation route with you prior to any work commencing. We will need to drill an 8-10mm hole in your external wall to run in our fibre cable and ‘lead in kit’. This will then be professionally sealed to prevent any draft. The cable will then be spliced into an Optical Network Termination or ONT point internally. This will then connect to our ‘smart wifi’ routers.
@if(!empty($lead) && !empty($lead->address) && !empty($lead->address->postcode))Push your area to the very top of the priority list simply by sharing our service with your neighbours and friends. We are a community lead company so your help spreading the word will go a long way.
